An old pop singer suffering from Alzheimer’s returns to her old house, where she takes a trip down memory lane, remembering her early days of fame and fortune. In the meantime, she deals with her older sister who holds her responsible for her ruined life.

A well-known director in Turkey, who has directed famous TV series like Cemberimde Gul Oya (2004-2005) and Asmali Konak (2002-2004) and famous movies like Babam ve Oglum (My Father and My Son)(2005) and Issiz Adam (Alone)(2008).

Leading actors: Farah Zeynep Abdullah and Mehmet Günsür

Farah Zeynep Abdullah is of Turkish through her mother and Iraqi Turkmen through her father. She got famous in Turkey for her role in the famous Turkish soap opera / TV series Oyle Bir Gecer Zaman Ki (Time Goes By). Finnish audience may also recognise her from her role in another Turkish movie, Kelebegin Ruyasi (The Butterfly’s Dream), which was shown in the MEFA-festival in Helsinki.

Mehmet Günsür is a very famous Turkish actor, model and producer. He was a child actor in the critically acclaimed Turkish TV series Gecmis Bahar Mimozalari in 1989. Since then, as an adult actor, he appeared in several important Turkish movies, such as Hamam (1997), Anlat Istanbul (Istanbul Tales) (2005) and Ask Tesadufleri Sever (Love Likes Coincidences) (2011) -the latter was shown in Turkish Movie Days in Helsinki in 2013. He also had one of the leading roles as Sehzade Mustafa (son of Ottoman Sultan Suleyman The Magnificient) in the famous Turkish TV series Muhtesem Yuzyil (The Magnificent Century). He also has won several awards and has appeared also in Italian movies, as he speaks Italian fluently and has graduated from the Italian High School in Istanbul.

Based on a true story, the movie is about 120 Turkish boys aged between 12-17 who died in 1915 carrying ammunition for the Battle of Sarikamis, an engagement between the Russian and Ottoman Empires, during World War I, and their mothers and sisters left behind.

He is also the director of this movie. Apart from movies, he has also had leading roles in many Turkish TV series and has even directed a famous series called Ikinci Bahar.

Nejat İşler is a Turkish movie, TV and theatre actor. He was also the leading actor as Kaan in the Turkish movie Kaybedenler Kulubu (Losers Club) which was shown in TMD.

Kenan İmirzalıoğlu is a Turkish actor, operatic tenor and model. He rose to fame as an actor through TV series such as Deli Yurek and Ezel.

Eskiya /The Bandit

The movie tells the story of a bandit named Baran who comes to Istanbul after serving a 35-year jail sentence in a town in Eastern Turkey. When he understands how the world has changed during his imprisonment and upon finding out that he was betrayed by his once closest friend, he travels to Istanbul. On his way, he meets a young man raised in the alleys of Beyoglu and dreaming of joining mafia.

Yavuz Turgul is a famous Turkish film director and screenwriter, best known for movies such as Muhsin Bey, Eskiya, Cicek Abbas and Ask Filmlerinin Unutulmaz Yonetmeni.

Leading actors: Sener Sen and Ugur Yucel

Sener Sen is one of the most famous Turkish film and theatre actors of all times. He has had leading and supporting roles in many classical Turkish movies, such as Hababam Sinifi series,  Tosun Pasa, Zugurt Aga, Selamsiz Bandosu, Muhsin Bey, Eskiya and Gonul Yarasi. He was also the leading actor in the movie Av Mevsimi which was shown in TMD. Sener Sen, Ugur Yucel (the other leading actor of this movie) and the director Yavuz Turgul cooperated in many other projects, such as Muhsin Bey. Sener Sen was also the leading actor in the TV series Ikinci Bahar directed by Ugur Yucel.

Bir Zamanlar Anadolu’da /Once Upon A Time in Anatolia

Based on the true experience of one of its writers, the movie tells the story of a group of men who search for a dead body on the Anatolian steppe. The movie premiered at 2011 Cannes Film Festival and was the co-winner of the Grand Prix. The movie was also Turkey’s official submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Director Nuril Bilge Ceylan

Nuri Bilge Ceylan is a Turkish photographer, screenwriter, actor and director. He was awarded with Palme d’Or and Grand Prix with his movies Winter Sleep and Once Upon A Time in Anatolia respectively. He also directed other critically acclaimed movies such as Uzak, Iklimler and Uc Maymun.

Leading Actor: Yilmaz Erdogan

Yilmaz Erdogan Turkish director, movie and theatre actor and poet. He got famous by TV series Bir Demet Tiyatro which was a production by Besiktas Cultural Center that he co-founded together with producer Necati Akpinar. Later on, he continued with movies, such as Vizontele, Vizontele Tuuba, Magic Carpet Ride. He was the director of the movie Kelebegin Rüyasi which was shown in MEFA and starred Farah Zeynep Abdullah.
